What do 3-4 year old love to pretend the most?

preschools love to play pretend like "playing house" or "playing doctor". what are some others? i need an idea for preschoolers to "pretend" to do somthing. Like the pet store, or the grocery store

When my son was that age, he and his friends enjoyed playing super-heros more than anything else.  They would turn something into a cape and off they would go!

Anything...but they love doing what mom and/or dad does, or even big brother or sister.  So you are right on with shopping, or going to work(asking them to pick their job and pretend to do it), reading to each other....but you can  take it to fantasy, like the first answerer, superheros.

If you are looking for a make-believe activity, just about anything you set up will work.   I've done grocery store, restaurant, race car driving, library, camping, fishing, airplane flights, zoo (kids can be animals or visitors), picnic at the lake with a plastic pool full of newspaper wads for the water, icecream store.  Geeze, I can't even remember it all.

Maybe you could observe a preschool class and find something  new that the children are pretending to do. I am amazed daily what my preschoolers come up with.

Well boys 3-5 years like to pretend there super hero's like superman,batman etc. Girls on the other hand like to pretend their princesses like Cinderella, snow white, belle, etc. both like 2 do house, doctor, restaurant, bank, (if your doing stuff like this i think you should buy play money so they can pretend to buy stuff)

My former students loved to pretend talking on the phone.  It was the cutest thing!  Some would even pretend they were answering their "friend" while washing dishes in the housekeeping area.  Too funny...I can't wait to go back to teaching preschool next school year!

My son (4 yo) loves pretend he's the daddy and his little Mickey Mouse is his baby.  He feeds him and even puts him down for a nap.  So adorable!

i have a little sister and brother and my sister likes to act like a princess and my brother will act like any superhero lolz

They like to play house like you said, but also restaraunt.  They like to play band, movie theater.  They like to do puppet shows.  They like to make tickets for things. I also have kids that like to pretend to be police men, fire fighters, teachers....  If you give them the props, they make up the game!
