  1. Who cares. Half of them wouldn't know where Australia is, let alone have an opinion on our game.

  2. I'm American and I want to know how Aussie rules is played. Seems like a very interesting sport and I believe that I once learn how it is played I will get hooked. Only way to do that is to move to Australia which is something I want to do.

  3. reminds me of a youtube clip i seen, famous landmarks of Australia or something like that, with the chasers war on everything, boys.   most Americans would not even of heard of it, seriously, only real sports lovers would know it.

check out that clip on you tube, laugh your head off. did you know the Eiffel tower is in Melbourne?

  4. We like it more than English football, probably because it's more similar to American football. In all, we probably feel the same way about it that you feel about American football.

  5. I used to love to watch it on ESPN but they stopped carrying it several years ago What a shame!

  6. Footy is incredible. I have been to Melbourne 5 times, 30 AFL games in me.

Here in the USA, there is a group in which I am a charter member, the Australian Football Association of North America. Website is,

    www.afana.com

Footy is played here in the USA, many ex-pats, a few Yanks that have learned the game.

The AFL and Andrew (the Rocket Scientist) Demetriou (AFL CEO) don't really give five fiddlers f*** in the wind about footy in America. That is a shame.

There are millions of USA dollars waiting for AFL pockets. The AFL just needs to get a legitimate television contract here in America, not the rumor of Setanta North America, which I have yet to talk, write or hear about any of us Yanks that can see footy on this rumored channel.

    I care lots about footy.

  7. Most of them like it and the ones that don't ............... don't talk about it.  It has similarities to NFL, but we don't use pads like in NFL, that gets them interested straight away.

  8. I am a red-necked American who's not afraid to say that I enjoy Aussie Football.  Unfortunately "Footy" is no longer carried on any of the sports channels offered on Direct TV and I miss the sport,

I would love to see a game in person but I doubt I'll ever have the resources to vacation "down under".

btw: my favorite team is the Magpies.

  9. who cares they American
