  1. Computer savvy and smell like curry...  usually extremely polite and accommodating...

  2. Rude as business owners and customer service reps. They are also really "square" when it comes to dressing/fashion.

  3. My idea of Indians is rather narrow.  I don't really have any stereotypes of them, but I can tell you that the Indian family on our street are great neighbors, but the 3 Indian engineers I know are overly defensive about their work, set in their ways and unwilling to try anything new.  They are very polite and a little overly sensitive.  They may be the exception, but that's my perception as they are the only ones I know.

  4. I don't really think anything. As far as intelligence, I've worked with enough in the data processing field to know they are not smarter than Americans.

  5. i know indian women are B-E-A-utiful.

  6. Arrogant s****.s.  I have had the misfortune of meeting more than a few [ in college, medical industry, business owners etc] and unfortunately I find most of them to be rude, arrogant and condescending.....the worst example was one of my father's nurses when he was terminally ill....she thought she was something because she had studied in England...she would rather come here to the states and look down her nose at Foreigners than help her own people at home ---many of whom are homeless and sharing the sidewalks with cows and cow f***s. Some of these folks are actually nice people---I understand that most of the ones that come here are the ''Professionals'' but they need to tone down their superiority complex...they are not the only smart people in the world.

  7. Why would Americans loathe indians? They are naturally beautiful people and I love their traditional clothing.

  8. One of my best friends is Indian.  However, he was born in Chicago.  I generally see Indians as being pretty rude.  Even the really ones that I have met seem to lack general etiquette.  At my friend's wedding, even the nicest people would fail to say, please, thank you, and excuse me.  It was pretty off putting.  In college, the Indians tended to cheat a lot, too (a lot of people did in college, but the percentage appeared higher in Indians).  Other than that, I know India has a lot of smart people as well as a lot of dumb people (AIDS rate is HUGE in India.  They keep it a secret).

  9. your Question is very broad , and hard to answer.Americans are good people , and for the most part are very accepting of foreigner's. However . Like anywhere else in the world , you will find ignorance and prejudice. No matter where you are from. I am Irish , and lived in India for many years. I am very fond of Indian people. I cannot speak for all Americans, nor would I try to. I have to ask. Does it really matter what people think?

If you are happy with you .s***w the ignorant ,racists. All they have is their hate , and no brain to accompany it.

  10. Having lived and worked in a number of Asian countries, I worked with (and worked for) quite a number of Indians and liked every one of them -- lots of good friends and neighbors, too.

The ones coming to the US are not the same at all.  Every last one of them has been two-faced, rude, arrogant, belligerent, butts into line at the supermarket, sells candles without wicks, lies, cheats, connives, and lords it over everyone around them regardless whether white/black/hispanic/asian.  Does coming to the US go to their heads or what?  I can't figure it, because they are so diametrically different from Indians I've known anywhere else.  And so very many of them quite openly admit that they forged school certificates, bought bogus "credentials" and what-not to cheat their way into a work permit or student visa or investor visa or whatever -- they are actually very proud of and openly brag about outsmarting immigration, their bosses, and whomever.

  11. I had no opinion of them until I was forced to work with them. Don't even get me started on what it is like to share a restroom with them. They are rude, arrogant, demanding, and whiney. They have no morals and lie and cheat to get jobs.

  12. The vast majority of Indians I have met have been very nice.  I love Indian food and have traveled to India, so I am generally very receptive when meeting someone new who is Indian.

I think that many Americans, however, resent India for, as they say, "taking our jobs" in the whole outsourcing thing, and find Indian accents difficult to understand.

As far as your point about "from a Democratic country"...I would imagine that many (certainly not most, but maybe 10%) Americans are unaware that there are other democratic countries in the world.
