Neither country has very many illegals from the other one.  I'd guess that more Canadians want to come to the US than the other way around.

It's very easy to immigrate to Canada legally so the percentage of illegals compared to legals is very low and frankly during 6 years of living in Canada, I have never heard anybody say that illegal immigration was a problem.  I've heard some ppl say that it was too easy to come here as a refugee and get all kinds of social assistance but that's about it.  I don't actually agree with that btw, refugees do not get an awful lot of social assistance and if their claim is not substantiated, they are deported.

Canadians dislike immigration-law violators from any country.  And they are very strict about enforcing their immigration laws.  Fortunately, most Americans and Canadians generally get along and generally abide by each others' laws, so there are relatively few US native-born citizens who are illegal aliens in Canada, and relatively few Canadian native-born citizens who are illegal aliens in the US.  Most illegal aliens coming from the US into Canada and vice versa are immigrants or "tourists."

The thought of Americans coming into Canada probably pisses them off to no end.  If they're illegal, it probably pisses them off even more.I don't think they like Americans that much.  And those coming illegally, that's a problem in itself.

I enjoy this questions.

I live in Toronto, we have a bit of an illegal American problem.  We get a lot of fugitives, runaways and other problem Americans, who come commit a crime and then try to claim they are refugees.

Although I find it amusing, what I don't find amusing is that this year we have had three murders all at the hands of illegal Americans.   Americans will be ooh all three, however in a city which only has about 50 per year three at the hands of illegals is too many.

In general I have no issue with Americans, even the illegal ones.  However once in Canada, do as Canadians do.  Work hard, play hard, be excessively polite and remember Canada is a fantastic nation and should not be annexed by the USA.
