What do Colleges Feel Regarding Martial Arts?

Would being a martial artist make my resume look better and increase my chances of being accepted into a university? If so, are there any martial arts that colleges love most? How does 4 years of high school wrestling and 4 years of Thai Boxing sound? Thanks!

  1. Martial arts a very good, any type of sport is because it helps you relieve stress, and that's what colleges want to know about you, if you can relieve stress in a healthy way and not break down because of the difficulty change from high school to college

  2. martial arts would be seen as an extracurricular and your coach would be a good person to write your reccomendation if you need one. but this all depends on how into it you are. colleges like to see dedication and persistance. so taking it like for like 3 months before you graduate doesent really count.

  3. Most forms of extra-curricular activity or sports will improve a CV or a uni application. I can't see them being too fussy over what style of martial arts you do though unless you were going for a particular scholarship; what you have sounds fine.
