Well, do you really think its the North? Because my family all fought for the South- CSA, and I consider myself Southern. I am from Richmond which was the Capital of the Confederacy. But I hear some people say we aren't really Southern. I dont understand. I mean, I know we're the furthest North in the South, but its below the Mason Dixon line. And we have sweet tea!

  1. I'm from CA.

To me, Virginia is kind of weird. I wouldn't consider it really the south. When I think of the south I think LA, MO, KS, etc... But it's not really the east. When I think east I'm thinking New England, New York area. It seems like a pretty cool state, though, whatever the h**l it is.

    Edit:

Well, what do I know? I guess it's more it's location that makes it an odd state. I really have little idea about Virginia culture. Like I said, though, it looks like a beautiful place either way.

  2. Anyone who says Virginia isn't Southern, doesnt know what the heck they are talking about.

I think Virginia is very much indeed Southern state- in fact its very  much like the Old South- the plantations and all. Im from Alabama and I feel very much at home there. The only parts of Virginia that arent Southern are Hampton Roads Area and Northern Virginia- mostly because people there arent originally from the area.

  3. I live near you :)  I live between DC and Richmond and I think southerners think that way because we are so close to them good ole yankees.

Maybe its because we don't got that twang in our voices. :)

We have sweet tea but if you think about it its just now starting to be a popular thing through northern virginia.
