What do Greeks think about Russians?

Greeks don't have smth with Russians.. Why would we hate or fear them? As someone here said we have the same religion and besides Russians and Greeks are people too! And there are quite a lot Russians in Greece...Some schoolmates of mine are from Russia and they are great!!! We are all people!I read though smth about Americans!The thing is that it isn't that greeks don't like american people... but their politics... And when some people are not educated enough cause they had to work to earn money for the 3 children they're raising. Without the proper education and with America starting wars like they're parties and pressuring Greece with FYROM etc it's natural these people to dislike Americans... but people with education, know that It's not the people of America who acts like that... but their politics...!

There is no general answer to that. There are racists and people with prejudices in every country. I have worked with Russians in my job as a theatre producer, and they were all wonderful and warm people.

In my Opinion only (based on 20+ years in Athens, Greece):

Greek people are generally distrusting of foreigners in General, hence the word Xenophobia.

Certain types of immigrants are considered shifty by Greeks, and Russians are on that list.

Don't worry though, We Americans are not all that liked either.  I read a survey in the Athens News http://www.athensnews.gr/, which stated that Greek Civil Service workers rated Albanians and Americans as the least liked foreigners in Greece.  But, as the Greeks say "Skasila Mou" (Who gives a XXXX)

Greeks like Russians and vice versa! We considered Russians closer to us maybe due to religion etc. My best friend is Russian, we studied together, l christen her baby, l went to Russia so l have the best opinion about Russian people.
