particularly curriculum-wise, but if you have any tips, you can give those, too. :)

  1. Sit at the front of the class, and ask questions if you don't understand.  Even if you are afraid you will look stupid, ask! Half of the other kids probably are wondering the same thing, and your teacher will be more willing to work with you if you explain when you need help rather than keeping it to yourself and doing poorly.

Keep an open mind. Respect others, but above all, respect yourself.  Find an adult that you can trust to talk to when you aren't sure about a tough decision.

Get involved!  Find some kind of sport or club that interests you. It's a great way to make friends and have something to keep you motivated to do well academically.

As far as curriculum goes, I only know English.  Probably you will read _Romeo and Juliet_ and _To Kill a Mockingbird_ .  You might do a research project and/or an oral presentation. But don't worry, you will be fine! :)

  2. yo...I am entering 10th grade so I know what your going through. For me, 9th grade was kinda stupid. I used used to a small middle school so going to a huge school was kinda weird. Just be really open and don't judge people. As for the work, it hsould be easy if you just stay focused, but you wil still have tons of time for fun. So, pretty much just go in with an open mind and you wll be ok.

  3. It's a lot cooler than middle school. You really have nothing to worry about. Just have fun. BUT! Stay on top of your grades. It is much harder than middle school. And you won't make it to class on time your first week, but after that, you will figure out shortcuts. You will do fine.
