What do I add to turn my boring story into a scifi thriller?

I want to get people on the edge of their seats! What do I need to do to get there?

Create an alternate world...the opposite of perfect.  Make it however YOU want it to be...doesn't matter if their are cats that walk around on their back legs smoking...lol anything in your own interesting world.

Why dont you start with what your story is about.

Characters, setting, etc.

Don't gild the t**d. Dump the boring story.  You can start with that kind of weakness.

You have decide if you want to write SF or a thriller since they have very different emphases and protocols.  If you're thinking of something to be made into a movei, FORGET IT.

Pick a genre, learn the history and bases of that genre, and that should start the ideas flowing.
