  1. candies! Candy from Asia is very popular and if you're buying for a younger girl, there's tonnnnnns of cutsie things you will find. Have a great time!

  2. you can buy some historic stuff or a soveniour for your family that represents the japanese culture and their way of living.

  3. Visit a 100-yen shop.  It is fun to shop there, and they have lots of neat items, not available here, and cheap.  I especially like the massage items they offer (like a stick thingie you can reach over your shoulder and apply pressure to a spot that hurts).  You can get some chopsticks and rice bowls.  Bring back at least one box of Japanese candy, as it is quite different from ours.

BTW, if you are visiting someone there and want to take a little present (and that is a custom), try Smucker's Magic Shell.  I had relatives visiting who were amazed at it (it hardens on ice cream) and bought several bottles to take home.

  4. There are lots of things you can buy them at a 100 yen store (they're all over).  Don't worry, there is plenty to choose from.

  5. I recommend a pair of scissors.

    It is very high-quality.

    Japanese sword technology in it.

  6. Initial D baby!
