So we are getting married outdoors in a museum courtyard. The only problem we were going to have as far as weather was that is might be too hot. We live in Texas and the month of August is always hot. So I didn't figure AT ALL for it to rain. Well It is in ten days and I am checking the weather and it is estimated to rain!!!! What do I do?

  1. Contact the musuem and see if they have a "rain plan" for their events. If they do, then you're set. Otherwise rent a canopy that can cover everyone.

  2. Call the venue and see if they maybe have a tent you could set up during the ceremony. If not, see if they have a plan B?

If all else fails, you could have the ceremony at the reception site. It would be less formal - the guests could sit at their tables.... I think that almost gives it a more intimate feeling.

P.S. Rain on your wedding day is considered good luck!!!! ;-)

  3. Call the venue. They should have a back up.

Also, try not too worry too much. Just because it says there will be rain doesn't mean it will rain. A lot can change in ten days.

Edit: If you are getting married outdoors at a museum (the ceremony* venue), they should have a plan b. Call the museum.

  4. I'd be freaking out too!! But relax! The museum has probably done this before and it has rained before, they must've accommodated people indoors or under tents. Good luck!

  5. buy umbrellas. and pop up tents at Lowes or Home depot.

  6. I was in the same position just a year ago. Ten days before my wedding, I checked, and rain was forecast. As has already been pointed out, a LOT can change in ten days. We had a clear sky, and I think you will, as well.

If not, the museum should know what to do, just in case. If they offer themselves as a venue, I'm sure they've got someone in charge of just that who already has it under control. Just talk to them about your concerns.

  7. call the place and see if they have a tent or a canopy. If they don't,you have enough time to rent one or borrow one from friends/relatives. Most party supply stores and home-improvement stores have them

  8. have you asked to museum of they have a cover for the courtyard.

if it's in c.c. tx, i say go to jezebelle's for your reception.  right next to the museum and the courtyard is beautiful there.

jezebelle's and the c.c. museum usally work stuff out like that.

hopefully your day isn't ruined by rain.  but it's still ten days away..what do the forecasters know?!

    good luck.

  9. Relax, rain is actually supposed to forecast a great marriage!  Just set up a canopy.  At least the rain will cool it down right?

  10. Call the venue - they may have canopies available.  If not rent, one or go to the dollar store and buy rain panchos & umbrellas.  It may not even rain that day!  Silly weather man...

  11. If necessary, move the ceremony to the reception venue.  Wait until day of the wedding to make the decision.

Just let folks know, "In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the reception venue."

  12. you maybe able to rent though's large tent covers. made to go over a table. a few people use small ones in there back yard. put bunch of them together. and get some umbrela's.

  13. you can rent a tent if they do not provide one or if its just a chance or rain or a sprinkle you can get fancy umbrellas and decorate them suiting your wedding theme. or if its going to be too hot provide folding fans
