What do I do? I think I may have a ghost?

I hear strange noises and the water comes on by itself. How do I get rid of a ghost?

You can have a priest bless the house or you can personally ask it to leave and if it doesn't I would contact the priest for sure...  Not all ghosts are evil though...  If you want to get rid of it though I would do what is listed above....

call in a reputable, local -ghost hunting society with references.  let them investigate and provide the solutions.   if you do it yourself you could be asking for trouble.  also, could be you have bad plumbing and need a washer on your faucet.

How old is the plumbing?

The valve stems may be old and worn down and susceptible to your city's water pressure causing the water faucets to turn on by themselves.

Other noises in the home could be due to temp changes and the wood frame/floors/stairs/joists to expand and contract.

Other noises could be from the duct work.

Rodents and birds may have made their way under the eaves of the home and making nests in the attic.

How about doing a little investigating before jumping to a conclusion?

First of all....Absolutely DO NOT get a ouiji board. Those things are very dangerous and are just a jumping point for a ghost posession.

Secondly, you have to examine your feelings about this ghost. Not all ghosts are bad. So if you feel comfortable, ask the ghost what it wants. h**l, it might be a family member who is upset at your recent behavior (having a priest banish your grandmother would be a bit extreme in my book). And it will let you know.

BUT...if it makes you at all uncomfortable you need to sit down where the paranormal activity is and say. "Thank you for visiting me but this is my house and I need you to leave."

If that doesn't work then tell it "Leave now and never come back". Again and again until you feel it leave.  But always be polite first, there is no reason to be rude to an entity that probably means you no harm. And if this doesnt work then you can call on your spirit guides/your god's name banish them from your house.

P.S. I think priests are about the least efficient way to get rid of a ghost. If it is really bothering you contact a local psychic/paranormal investigations team and they can help you get rid of it. But it sounds benign from what you are saying so you shouldn't have to go this far.

What makes you think you have a ghost?  Do you have any idea how many natural explanations you are discarding by irrationally coming to this conclusion?

Sounds more like you *want* a ghost.  If so, go buy a ghost in a bottle.
