Question:

What do I do? Trojan virus?

It is Trojian startuppage.ig and startuppage fz. Both have already interfered with my browser. I have many security features...but AVG did not pick it up, neither did spyware doctor, spybot and adAware...the only one which picked it up was my Uniblue spy eraser.

But I cannot delete it from Spy Eraser - what is wrong? In addition I know the trojan is causing problems for my web browser. It can't read scripts and says the security settings do not allow for active X control...but all my active X is enabled. I don't understand. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated about how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance

  1. I suggest you stop using the internet as with a trojan virus a hacker could easily steal your ip address and other info that could incluse card information.

Wipe your computer entirely and restart, trojan virus can't usually be found with normal spyware etc etc.

If you want to keep anything i suggest you scan it first with the program that found the virus in the first place.

That is the cheapest way of getting rid of one.

Otherwise take it to a professional and see what they can do with it.

  6. if you cant figure it out i suggest you take it to like a computer store where they do minor fixes like that.  i had a trojan virus once too, and i had to get my whole computer cleaned out.  it was worth it but it was 65 bucks to remove it and clean it out.

  7. Free AVG sometimes can't pick up variants. try here

  8. I got bad news for you.  Most Trojan viruses can't be killed by your average computer user.  I had the same thing happen a couple of months ago.  The only thing that saved me was a visiting friend was a tech support engineer for a major airline.  It took him two days to kill the viruses that had my computer ready to crash.  Most anti viral software can't kill the virus after the infection they can only prevent new infections so don't go out and buy new software.  The best thing you can do is take your PC to someplace like bestuy and have the people there diagnose and repair your PC it can cost anywhere from $200 to $300 but the alternative is to totally reformat you hard drive or buy a new PC.

  9. Run Malwarebytes

  10. i got trojan horse virus once and avg picked it up call your computer place or the anti virus software place the number should be on the package or online

  11. Sometimes you need to follow the same steps, but perform them in SAFEMODE.

Also, have you UPDATED your Anti-virus and anti-spyware programs?  I see your list did not include Spyware Blaster. You might consider trying it, as well as Windows Live Care.
