I do not know what to do! I was just surfing the net for football news and my computer froze, so I turned it off, and when I turned it back on it had this wallpaper. I'm not very technology coordinated and am having a hard time figuring this mess out.

  1. Hi there,

It means you have a FAKE anti-virus program called "Windows XP 2008" - you should remove this as soon as possible, as it may be leaking information to potential "hackers".

I suggest you install something like AdAlert to remove it. Please have a read through this guide; http://www.jigsawboys.com/2008/08/07/how...

  6. The wallpaper that says spyware detected on your computer IS the spyware, or adware to be more precise.  I have worked on machines with that installed, and it can be a pain to get off.

No point in me uplicating instructions, the post here should help you to get rid of it.

  7. "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer" is a result of rogue antispyware program called Antivirus XP 2008 that infects user’s computer system. This adware hijacks users desktop, it changes wallpaper with this message:

“Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer”

"Warning! Spyware detected on your computer" can also change users homepage and show this type of message:

”Insecure internet activity. Threat of virus attack”
