I have always gotten cramps during my period but it seems like it has gotten worse with in the past year or so. Sometimes I get cramps that are so bad that I can't go to work. It feels like I have to go p**p but I cant. The past two times this has happend I ended up throwing up (the only thing that came up was water and spit) and I ended up feeling better. What causes cramps and how can I stop them.

  1. Severe period pains should always be investigated to check for a treatable cause. As a rough guide, if you've had severe period pain (known as dysmenorrhoea) since around the time your periods first started, it's less likely a particular cause will be found.

There are exceptions to this. Conditions such as endometriosis can sometimes cause severe pain from an early age (although the pain typically gets worse as the disease does more damage with each monthly cycle). Other causes include fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease and sometimes a narrowing of the cervix. Bear in mind, though, that period pains are rarely a sign of disease, especially in younger women.

If the pain interferes with your life, preventing you from working, going to school or coping with daily tasks, I would recommend you consult with a doctor/gynaecologist for further evaluation.

    Good luck :)

  2. I just looked this up probably10minutes ago because right now I am suffering from mensrual cramps. I'm  sorry but I can't remember the site but it listed 7 ways to reduce cramps.

    1. take a contraceptive pill.

    2.  exercise

    3. use a heating pad

    4.  tak an over the counter pain killer (midol, ibuprofen, advil, tylenol)

    5.rest.get plenty of sleep.

    6. don't eat too much salt/sugar.

    7. have 5 small meals to prevent u from feeling like you over ate.

it also suggested that if you are still in pain  and are throwing up to seek medical help. it is the greatest reason women miss school or work. the most hours from school or work are lost during this unpleasant time.

naps work for me the most.

good luck I hope you feel better darling.

  3. your muscles are contracting..

you could try to put something cold on your abdomen.

heat just makes everything worse for me

  4. take some midol.

curl up in a ball, and it helps.

  5. Ibuprofen works and so does Midol.

Or you could make yourself puke, maybe that'd help. ahaha.

  6. There are various things that you can do for cramps like putting a heating pad on the area where you feel the cramp.

You can also take things like Tylenol Extra Strength chewing tablets if you can't swallow pills or Midol (which really helps with cramps and headaches).

I hope this helps you! ^^
