okay so, for months now, my dad's house has had a serious problem with ants, we've tried sprays, the stuff you sprinkle/ spray around the perimeter of our house. They're even in the bathroom. & They like chillin' in the kitchen sink. So we make sure we always do our dishes as soon as we're done with them. Even in a clean sink with no dishes, the ants are still in there. I don't know what to do and my dad wont get an exterminator cause he doesn't have money. HELP

ME PLEEEASSSEEEE. I cannot share a house with a billion ants anymore...

  1. MMMM... If you've tried traditional sprays/pellets etc... There could be a nest inside the house?  We get lots of ants living near the woods as well as spiders, silverfish etc.. So, we use ORTHO HOME DEFENSE... It's a spray you use INSIDE/OUTSIDE along the perimeter of the doors, windows, along baseboards, behind appliances... It's safe to use around fabric/furnishings.. It's NOT very expensive... For a gallon with a sprayer it's around $10.. .It's also guaranteed to work for 6 months so if it doesn't you can get a refund... I would consider spraying INSIDE/OUTSIDE and also using ant baits in addition.... See if that might help... Also, vacuuming the carpets and keeping food in glass/plastic containers would be very helpful as well....

    Good luck

  2. I had success with BORAX powder.

For more solutions see the link below.

I hope it works for you.

  3. Buy a container of boric acid, sold in drug stores as an antiseptic or in garden stores as roach killer.  Very inexpensive.  Mix it one part to ten parts of powdered sugar for one type of ant and one part to ten parts of meat gravy, grease or soup for the other types.  Different ants like different baits, and the measurements don't have to be exact.  Put a bit in small jar lids or any low container, and place them around your kitchen and bathroom.  The pests will take the bait back to the nest and it will wipe out the entire nest.  You will need to freshen the supply everyday for a few days.  Boric acid is not poisonous to people and pets.

  4. Put down cornmeal in little piles where you see them and along their trails - they take it back to the nest and they all eat it - it swells inside of them and they die killing the colony - it shouldn't take too long but you'll see a decrease in numbers

  5. Save up the money to have your house sprayed professionally. Usually they will just make tiny holes in the wall and put stuff in there. Maybe the money isnt there now but it sounds like you have carpenter ants, big black ones, well they like to eat the wood and this will cause your house to rot through and collapse. So 200 dollars is a small price to pay compared to that. Plus you could probably get it for cheaper. Watch the ants to see the hole the are coming/leaving through, it will help spot treat it yourself and/or the exterminator.

Oh yea the queen has wings kill these!
