  1. Whatever you want :)

You have certainly developed your communication skills over the years; many employers need people who can effectively communicate in speaking and in writing.  You have also learned how to be a problem-solver (isn't that an understatement?); companies need people with skills to solve problems.  You can enter nearly any field you desire with your experience and college degree, but you may have to undergo certain training or get an advanced degree for particular fields.  I suggest taking some career inventories (many are free at colleges and career resources on campus) to find out what professions sounds of interest to you.  You can also take inventories which will match your skills to careers.  All good information that can help you decide.  Good luck.

  2. home tutoring

  3. Go back to school and start a new career if that's what you want.  Are you tired of teaching?

Or you could go to Sylvan and be a highly paid tutor!

  4. did you get fired?  or are you just retiring?

  5. That depends, do you want to leave the teaching field?  What areas interest you?  I'm sure if you've been in education for 11 years, you must enjoy it & you must be good at it, but I am sure you have many skills that will serve you well in other fields.  Not much help, but your question leads to lots of questions. Sorry, good luck.

  6. It is better to have gone down the road and tried than to not have and have had regrets as a teacher...you can always go back to it at a later time, but a master's degree  or BA or certificate-- are very applicable to other avenues...use them! Watch your "planning and lesson plans" apply to how you approach this venue, it is amazing how interchangeable and how much people see other assets of teaching (i.e., public speaking, organizational skills, leadership) in other non-academic atmospheres! a good HR officer will see these skills as great assets! good luck!
