  1. Hang it upside down and let it bite your neck.

  2. first put linseed oil on it evenly leaving a day or so inbetween each coat to lat it soak in.then knock it in eenly, increasing the pressure each hour of knocking in t compress the willow tighter.send the bat to the nearest factory after every season and ask them to remove the tape so you cab re-oil it so it doesn't dry out and crack.

  3. Knock the bat in first for about 4 to 6 hours just to compress the willow that little bit extra, then sand it till really smooth use very fine sand paper (the finest you can get), you'll have to linseed the bat about 6-8 times after sanding, then when the bats dried then put the fibre glass on. i advise an anti scuff sheet rather than fibre glass. If you have a bat workshop near you they would give the best advise.

    Hope thats helpful.

  4. oil it being careful not to oil the splice of the bat as this will soften the glue that hods your handle to your bat (the bit where your handle joins your bat and is diff clolour wood) then after applying two or three coats to the face of the bat and 1 on the edges and back lie that bat horizontally on its back then leave it for 24hours. after this process knock it in for about two hours starting with soft hits then whack it then put your fibre glass on

  5. If by fibre glass you are refering to one of those clear sticky plastic sheets or 'extratec' then there is no need to oil the bat and if anything oiling it will just make the sheet lose its stickyness and fall off.

In the end its up to you, do you prefer the oil look or do you prefer the protective sheet. The advantage to the sheet is that this will protect the bats face from any damage and cracking over time whereas the oil will not. Also remember that you always have to knock in a new bat despite what you put on the face. The time that you will have to knock in the bat for all depends on whether it was preknocked in or not. go to ur local cricket shop n ask if ur confused, they know best

  6. I knocked mine in on and off for about two days, then i oiled it and put fibre glass on the edges and two pieces across the middle. Worked for my woodworm.
