What do I do get the HP Software Installation message "Software is being stalled" but nothing happens?

I have a HP Pavilion notebook DV2000t and it originally came with Windows XP but I later upgraded to Windows Vista. Now I wanted to reformat the whole computer so I used disc 1 and 2 of the System Recovery DVDs. Went through the prompts correctly and when it finished to 100%, it restarted and showed the desktop. Then this thing pops up and says Software is being Installed: When complete, your system may automatically restart. Please do not turn off your computer during this process. So I don't touch it and nothing happens for like a day. It restarted once and it did the same thing, it showed the desktop then this message covered the screen again. So I tried the cds again and it's doing it again. Can anyone help?

  1. Check with HP, they should know what to do

Probably you should put the cd in the tray and then reboot, maybe it will catch for you..Good Luck

Go to their site. It is a free service 24/7

Then lower left click Support and troubleshooting

    Then upper right, contact HP

Here you have a choice of email or live chat support (Via computer) They are fast in responding

Do it now..  Sorry, I forgot your computer was down

  2. so when it restart remove the cd...
