I have a Siemens Speedstream router and I cannot connect to my wireless network anymore because I cant remember or find the paper that the Network Key was written on! :(

I need my internet, im fed up of being glued to the router all day/night with an ethernet cable :(

Help me!

Anyway to find it? or get it from the speedstream settings/site?

If not, how do I reset the settings of the router? :S

Thank you!!!!

  1. Most routers have a reset button on the back. If you hold the button in for about 15 seconds, it will usually reset to factory settings.

Same thing happened to me with a Linksys router.

  2. Hold the reset button on the back or bottom of the router, then start over from scratch.

    Remember the new key.

  4. You can access the router itself , and change the key. Most routers use the IP address of 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.

Simply open internet explorer , type in "192.168.1.1" in the address field , and you should be prompted for a username and password (Which is most likely "admin" and "password"). Once you get in , there should be setting for the wireless network where you can change the network key.

    To reset the entire router:

There should be a small button on the very back of the router. Turn the router on and push in that button for about 30 seconds (you would stick a needle or something small).

    Good Luck!

  5. I dont know what brand router you have, But every one I have ever seen has a master reset button on it. When pushed it will resest to manufacture settings just like the day you bought. This will either set the code to  all zeros or sometimes to the code on the bottom of the router. If this does not work call tech support.
