What do I do if a tornado comes and I am in a rowing boat?

I am on a crew team. I will be taking a trip out to Oklahoma this weekend and am wondering what I should do if I am rowing on a river and a tornado comes. My first thought was to dive under water, but I am not sure.

Usually people are warned of possible high winds and it is not good to be on the water in bad weather. I think it would be good to get out of the water and under a bridge if possible. If debris hits you in deep water you may drown. I would hope you would not get into that situation. Storms sometimes build fast but I would think if storm chasers can find them we should at least be able to stay off the water under a tornado watch or Row, row, row your boat

gently down the stream.

Well first off your instructor for the row team should keep a outlook on the weather, and im sure if there is even possibility of any type of storm you wouldn't be out there on the water....

But if you were Thats what i would do....

If there is any storm nearby or even if the skies or blue and you hear thunder, you need to go away from water because lightning is a major killer. If you see a tornado go to a building and on the lowest floor. lay flat down and cover your head with your hands. if no building is avalible, go to a ditch or low spot, crouch down, and cover you head. Hopefully no tornado will hit you!

Not sure. It seems they be warnings (probably from a radio) about a tornado is about to occur.
