What do I do if my budgies mate and theres no nestbox?

Im getting budgies soon and i was just wondering what to do if it happens will they lay the eggs on the floor and what if I dont see them mate so I dont no weather to get a nest box.

First if you have seen your birds mating,are they old enough to breed (12-18 months)

Second. do you want young ,if so then you need a nest box.

If you answer Yes to the above be prepared,make sure your birds have plenty Cuttle bone a Mineral block and give them small quantities of greens such as Broccoli, Kale,Spinach and if you can get wild seeding grasses also Dandelion seeding heads before they burst ,a good seed diet is essential to successful breeding.

If you do not provide a nest box they will lay on the bottom of their cage,but don't remove the eggs as they may keep on laying and exhaust the hen bird.

Finally if you live in the U.K.it is not the best time to breed budgie's as they normally Molt at this time of year and you don't want them breeding during molt.
