What do I do if someone threw my mail away?

I moved out of my old residence about two months ago, and a $150 check was sent to that address by mistake last week. My old house-mate, who still lives there, knows my new address. When I went to pick up my mail, I found out that he threw it away along with other items that was sent there in my name. I know that is against the law. But what do I do about it? I have a witness telling me that he told them he threw it away, but other than that I have no evidence. Do I press charges? Normally, I wouldn't care, but this guy has made my life a living h**l, and now he's throwing my personal mail away. What do I do?
