What do I do if the apartment complex says they don't have a package the postal service says was delivered?

USPS confirms my package was delivered to the apartment complex's office on August 13th but the lady at the apartment office says my package isn't there. What do I do?

  1. did it require someone to sign for it? call the post office directly.  


  2. File a claim with USPS , it is their responsibility to get the package to you unless you designate an agent to except it on your behalf.

  3. what was in the package?  how expensive are we talking?

  4. Sadly, not much. It's hard to prove it was delivered unless the package was sent registered and required a signature on delivery. That's rare, since it costs extra. In light of this incident, though, it might be worth it for future packages.

    It's also possible that the mail carrier left the package at the office while it was unattended, or even outside the office, where it could easily be stolen by anybody.
