What do I do once I have my UK Fiancee Visa and get married?

Once I receive my UK Fiancee Visa i know i have to get married within the 6 months of having it. Once I get married am I allowed to stay there permanently once my status is changed by the home office or do i have to come back to the US on my return flight?

once you have your fiance visa, you get married within the time required by immigration and stay,

From 1 Feb 2005, those visiting the UK for the purpose of marriage must follow new procedures.  

You must hold either:

Entry clearance as a Fiance/e (if you intend to remain in the UK after you marry)

Entry clearance as a Visitor-for-Marriage (if you intend to leave within 6 months)
