  1. To be honest with you, a rash is nothing to worry about people looking at while playing sports.  People watch sports for the action, not to check out the rash on your legs.  I don't think you should worry about what people think when you are doing something you love, and denying yourself from playing your favorite sport just because of what some people think is just robbing yourself of your happiness.  Ok now that I've gotten that out of the way, some things to help out.

I know that when I played hardly any of my legs even showed.. heres what you do...

invest in a pair of LONG spandex (not pants just a short with a longer inseam) - this can cover you till just about your lower thigh

Get a pair of kneepads - this will cover your knees

and get a pair of long, knee length sport socks - this will cover your whole lower leg

this will leave the minimal skin showing and allow you to not worry  about people looking at you and worry about your playing.

I really hope this helps. Best Wishes :-)

  2. Just dont care what people have to say you cant help that you have a rash so just dont worry about it and just do what you love

  3. Play in a rec league where there are no uniforms if it is wearing a school uniform/shorts that is the  issue for you.

You should be able to find a league with a  competitive level that suits you where you could wear warm-up pants, for example.

In that case, maybe you would get confident/comfortable enough to play in shorts, where hopefully you would find out that it doesn't matter anyway, like other people have said.  But you will at least have the ability to go back to wearing sweat pants/warm-ups if you feel the need to.

  4. Ware shine cards and/or long socks. Or tell everybody to fly a kite because it's what you like to do. If your good like you say you are, I don't think anyone will even care about your legs once they see you play.

  5. I feel your pain.  I had the same problem when I was younger.  Have you had this rash diagnosed by a Dermatologist, because it sounds like what I have, psoriasis.  There are treatments for this that will reduce the redness.  But more importantly you can't let this cripple your life.  If volleyball is a passion of yours go out and play.  If you are really self concious you can try to cover it with a bandage.  Then the other team will just think your hurt, and then feel worse with the injured girl just kicked their butts.  As far as your teamates just tell them the truth, they'll understand.  But don't let this little thing get you down, heck there are people playing volleyball with missing limbs and alot larger problems than this.  Get out there and kick some butt!

  6. thats such a minor problem. I play volleyball as well, and used think the same way you did. I don't have  a rash, rather a couple of bad burning scares from a accident.  it runs on the left side.. from the back of my neck to my left shoulder to the left side of my rib cage. I used to avoid doing anything that requires my shirt tobe off...swimming, going to the beach, or even wearing a tank top. cause i was uncomfortable of what others think or say. Now I could care less what they think or say. I played in a couple of outdoor tournaments with my shirt off and even change shirts without having to goto the restroom. I wish I done it sooner. Don't change you life style because of others....do it only if YOU want to. Play volleyball, and be comfortable with your body and looks! Good Luck!
