I recently bought a little toy car for my 2 1/2 year old son and found it was faulty when I got it home. I took it back to the store to exchange it and they wouldnt. The store is due to close at the end of August and it says all sales are final. Are they legally allowed to sell faulty/damaged stock? The manageress was really rude about it and said it didnt matter if it was faulty, she wasnt going to exchange it. Who do I contact? The toy was only $6.99 but it's the principal of the matter.

  1. Try and contact the manufacturer. I would use a web search and make contact by e-mail. See what their policy is about defective merchandise. If there was a sign posted as to all sales being final, you may be out of luck with the store. If not, you might contact your state's Department of Consumer Affairs about the laws regarding the sale of defective merchandise'
