  1. have you tried unplugging the receiver, leave it off for a minute or two.  Plug it back in and let it do its thing.  If that doesn't work, call DirectTV, they may need to come out and readjust your dish.

  2. If the weather is good and there are not many clouds over-head, then you need to check for anything that might be blocking the dish's view of the sky.  Are there any tree limbs hanging in front of the dish?

Also, it is possible that the dish is not aimed properly.  It may have come loose or it may have been hit by something.  In any case you may need to re-position it.  There is also a menu option on your box that lets you see the signal strength.  This will indicate whether there is a signal at all or if it is just weak.

There are many other things that could cause a weak or non-existent signal such as bad cables and/or connectors, a bad LNB (the little thing that points at the center of the dish), etc.

If you are not comfortable with troubleshooting the problem yourself you will need to call DirecTV and have them come out and check the system.

  3. There is nothing you can do. I am a direct tv customer as well. It means that something is interfearing with the signal it is receiving. You probally have a storm coming your way. You just have to wait it out. If it is a problem that persists, you should contact Direct TV and make sure that it was programmed correctly and has sufficient satellite signal.

  4. wait it out man

  6. you can do nothing about it..weather conditions and electromagnetic fields control these things
