What do I do when my dvd burner doesn't recognize the blank dvd?

I use windows vista and the software i'm burning with is dvdfab gold. PLEASE HELP!

Certain brands of media, especially cheap ones, don't work well with certain brands of optical drives once again, especially cheap ones.  Try memorex and if they don't work then look into replacing the drive.

Right click my computer

Click properties

Click hardware

Click device manager

Click the + by IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, highlight and click uninstall

Reboot and let windows reinstall for you
