What do I do when my iphone freezes and won't respond to anything?

I was looking at one of my contacts trying to edit it now my phone is just frozen and won't respond to anything i do...

First take the sim card out for 15 minutes. Then put it back in and turn it on. Also try a reset on the phone.  See if that solves your problem.If not, contact warranty exchange. If you are still under warranty you can get another phone.

i know that with regular ipods you can hold down the menu/center button at the same time to reset it, but obviously you can't with the iphone...

if you havent already, try connecting it to itunes.
