What do I do when the moving people are in my house?

Question

I hired a moving company to come in and pack my stuff and transport it for me. Do I already have to have most of my things organized or will they just come in to my messy house and organize it for me. On moving day do I help them pack my stuff, or do I just stand there and watch? I'm also a little confused/embarrassed as to what to do with some of my "personal stuff," can I pack a few boxes before hand?

i would pack up what i want to take in my vehicle and let them do the rest

if u feel more comfrotable you can pack ur own personal stuff but i think they'll pretty much pack up ur things for u

if you're paying them to pack it, let them get on with it

if there are some very personal private items you don't want anyone to see then obviously you would pack them yourself, but I think you'll find it would take an awful lot to embarrass someone who works for a moving company - they've seen it all before !!

just make sure you throw away junk and rubbish before they come or else they'll pack it and take it to your new place

Contact the firm & they will drop of flat pack boxes in advance so you can do any of your own packing in advance. Wrap any ornaments in newspaper & put all your smalls & toiletries in a separate box. Label the boxes & they will just uplift them. Make yourself scarce by making a cup of tea for the men & keep out their road while they are working. You will need be there to advise them of what's to go where etc. Have fun doing the second most stressful thing in your life next to divorce.

It is normally their responsibility to pack everything because they have to insure that everything was packed correctly in case you have a claim for broken articles after the move. It is best that you just sit back and watch for possible problems you might correct.

I think you should pack all your stuff into boxes and label them. How else will you know whats in the boxes and what rooms they are for? The removal men will just lift the boxes and large items like beds, wardrobes, sofas etc. Good luck with your move!
