  1. Silken tofu, b/c of the texture, is perfect for some of the recipes here b/c it whips well. For frying the extra firm and firm are better.


  2. This is super easy and soooo tasty.

    Vegan No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

    You need:

    Ready made graham cracker or chocolate pie crust

    10 oz vegan semi-sweet chocolate chips

    1/2 cup peanut butter

    12 oz silken firm tofu

    5 tbsp of pure maple syrup

    3 oz soy milk (more or less)

    Melt the chocolate in the microwave. use a blender to mix all ingredients together until they have a creamy consistency. Pour into the pie crust and chill in the freezer for two hours before serving.

  3. I love to use silken tofu in smoothies or baking.

    Banana smoothie

    1/2 banana

    1/2 glass soy milk

    1 tsp honey (veg) or fruit concentrate (vegan)

    2 tbs fine oats

    2 tbs soft tofu

    Blend it all up in a blender. It makes about 1 glass.

  6. Tofu Scramble

    1 box silken firm tofu, patted dry and mashed

    1/8 tsp. turmeric

    1 tsp. onion powder

    1/2 tsp. salt

    1/2 cup of your favourite vegetables such as broccoli, fresh mushrooms, onions, or tomatoes

    Place the tofu in a lightly oiled sauté pan and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, stir well, and cook for 5 to 8 minutes, until the vegetables are cooked and the tofu is heated through.

  7. I do this to my kids and they don’t even know it. Put silken Tofu in a food processor or blender ( 12 oz ) and puree. Then add the mixture to a box of your favorite mac and cheese right as you are adding the cheese mixture.  You can also puree silken tofu and add 12 oz of melted semi sweet chocolate. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and pour the mixture into a graham cracker pie crust. Chill in the fridge for an hour and you’ve got a chocolate mouse. Hope these help

  8. If you have a recipe for miso soup, you can make that.  Many restaurants will put silken tofu cubes into the soup.  Otherwise, you use it mainly for desserts, smoothies, sauces, or anything that requires a creamy texture.

  9. A no cook simple one. Any strawberries?

    Blend silken tofu, strawberries, sugar to make a creamy yoghurt like dessert !   No strawberries, any mango. Replace with mango to make a tofu mango pudding.

    Steamed silken tofu for 5-8 minutes.  Sprinkle chopped spring onion (optional), drizzle with olive oil/sesame oil, light soy sauce.

    Drained water from silken tofu, coat with corn starch or flour, deep-fried to make agedashi tofu (japanese cuisine)

    Use it to make vegan mayo.
