I know there are some things you shouldnt throw in the trash and I would assume that that a microwave is one of them. Im not sure if there is somewhere I can take it to get rid of it. I live in San Diego if that matters at all.....There are mexicans that ride around the neighborhoods here in trucks and pick things out of the trash is that something they would be interested in taking?

  1. you could phone your local council they will tell you were to get rid or pick it up for you in the uk they do this for free but don't know about your area. the cost of fixing a bust microwave is more than buying a new one & for salvaged parts isn't worth it so i doubt those guys will take it

  2. YOUR A WHITE ***** THAT IS RACIST!!!!

  3. ..disassemble it and trash separate metal and plastic parts

  4. There's a few things you can do:

    1. Donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army. They will repair it in a vocational training class and sell it.

    2. Leave outside with a sign that it's broken but free. If there's no takers within 24 hours bring it back in.

    3. Post of freecycle or craigslist, just be sure to mention it's not currently working.

    4. Take to your local Household Hazardous Waste site. Sometimes these are once a month roundups and sometimes there's permanent sites (OC has permanent, so SD probably does too).  They typically have a stop and swap, recycle what they can and safely dispose of what can't be used or recycled.  You can locate this through the coutny's waste authority website.

  5. disassemble it if you have time but if you don't have then call your government instead.
