  1. it sounds like he just needs a job or to play. a little fetch down the hallway or, in the future, try teaching him to walk on a treadmill. it works amazingly well.

  2. idk....my dogs are taught good and well behaved!!

    try to teach him obedience

  3. I'd say let him play in the rain lol, but then you'd have a house full of hair and wet dog. XP  So I'd suggest either getting another dog for a play mate, which would be expensive, or you could try calming his anxiety with.... this will sound lame, but music, it works, soft music and cuddling with him should calm him.

  4. give him a full body mohawk! then give his nuts a mullet!!! then send me the pictures!! because its gonna be SO AWESOME!!!

  5. Get a large Kong and fill it with peanut butter and freeze it that will keep your dog busy for awhile.

  6. dood i know how you feel my big boy shadow eats my pants when hes bored i give him  a big bone it usually calms him down

  7. ok i would, when you go to the store if you have a bike attach the dog to the bike with the harness and let him pull you to the store and get one of those bike trailers for the shopping this will tire him out also long walks if you have kids get them to take him out and say you will increase there pocket money by $5 or if you can afford another dog get one as a friend so they can play together hope this helped

  8. Breed:

    Siberian HuskySiberian Husky

    Owner Level:

    For experienced involved dog owners

    Who should own this breed?

This fun loving, affectionate, outgoing, breed requires an experienced, committed, stable owner that has educated themselves well on this breed's needs. Siberian owners should be aware of this dog's amazing natural abilities and desires. They should also know that those abilities and desires, if not channeled and use will become a problem. The Siberian Husky attracts a lot of people because of it's beauty. They are also adorable puppies and win people's hearts in an instant. Many uneducated, puppy smitten owners soon find out this is not the breed for everyone. This is a fantastic, but very specialized breed that requires a special owner to be successful.

Siberian Huskies are high energy. Always look to a dogs historical roots and modern jobs for insight. These dogs were originally bred to run in sub zero temperatures for long distances and still do. Their endurance and desire to go is not the correct match for the average pet owner. But for many Siberian owners, this breed becomes a lifelong passion of the heart and they would own no other.

        * They need the company of other dogs or of people at all times. If you work all day, or have room for only one dog, don't get a Siberian. Loneliness for this breed equals TROUBLE. A lonely Siberian Husky will display a full spectrum of undesirable behaviors.

        * Siberian Huskies have a pretty common trait for digging holes in backyards. If you take great pride in your landscaping efforts, a Siberian is not for you.

        * While capable of strong affection for his family, the Siberian Husky is also very friendly with strangers and make poor watch dogs. A Siberian will not alert his owner to strangers. They are usually pretty happy to see just about everyone. Which I see as a positive for the Siberian. An owner is not bothered with irritating barking every time someone enters or passes by his property.

        * The breed in general is not good with: Cats or any small animals, rodents, birds or fowl, because of their prey drive instinct. There are of course exceptions, but don't count on it. If you desire to have or currently own such pets do not get a Siberian Husky.

          Siberian Husky Howling

        * Siberian Huskies are vocal. They rarely bark, but will whine, or moan, and also chirp and howl. Head held high, they will produce one of the most haunting song like sounds. Now this Siberian song fest may be music to the ears of a Siberian and the Siberian Husky fancier, but the neighborhood may not agree.

        * Siberian Huskies shed a lot. When they blow coat in the spring it is a lot like a doggie hair storm. Brushing helps and you can speed the shedding up with a warm bath. But if you don't like fur all over the house, the car, the furniture and if you don't want to match you wardrobe to you dogs coat color, you don't want to get a Siberian.

        * Siberian Huskies need a lot of exercise. They have a high endurance level and need a owner that wants to keep up with them. Huskies love to do what they were bred for, so being involved in Siberian Husky sledding, carting and other events or breed clubs is a plus for the dog and the owner. Obedience and agility are also good outlets and activities for the Siberian Husky and owner. They can make good walking/running partners, if the weather is not to warm.

        * Siberian Huskies have a tremendous desire to RUN. But the very first dash that a puppy makes could be it's last. These dogs should never be allowed to run at large. They face too many hazards in today's world: Cars, other dogs, guns, poison, antifreeze. In addition, they can come in contact with diseases: Parvo, distemper, corona, parasites. The clever Siberian Husky can surely add to that list, easily. They also have a strong prey drive. A gentle family Siberian Husky, at large can inflict, death or injury to livestock, fowl, cats, and wildlife. These mis-adventures could cost you some time in court , large sums of money and ultimately cost your dog, it's life. A Siberian, for their own protection, should be kept confined or under control at all times.

        * Siberians are escape artists. Some can be contained in 6 foot fencing. Others can clear an 8 foot fence like they have wings. Most Siberian Huskies require completely enclosed kennels to keep them where they are safe when they are not being supervised. Each Siberian Husky varies, but in general this breed is a lot of work to contain. The Siberian is the "Houdini escape artist" of the dog world.

    Husky require 4km daily walks!

Buy some rawhind chews, tough chew toys like kongs!

If you want a dog who...

        * Is medium-sized and furry, with a wolfish appearance

        * Is free-spirited and playful

        * Is athletic and agile and loves the great outdoors, especially in cold weather

        * Thinks that running full-speed, pulling carts and sleds, and/or carrying a backpack on a mountain hike is his purpose in life

        * Is usually good-natured with strangers and sociable with other dogs

A Siberian Husky may be right for you.

If you don't want to deal with...

        * Vigorous exercise requirements

        * Rowdiness and exuberant jumping, especially when young

        * Massive destructiveness and howling when bored, left alone too much, or not exercised enough

        * Strong instincts to chase and grab anything that runs

        * Escaping from your yard in search of adventure

        * Strong-willed mind of his own, requiring a confident owner who can take charge

        * Heavy shedding

A Siberian Husky may not be right for you.

Providing enough exercise. Siberian Huskies MUST have regular opportunities to vent their energy. Otherwise they will become rambunctious and bored -- which they usually express by howling and destructive chewing. Bored Siberian Huskies are famous for chewing through drywall, ripping the stuffing out of sofas, and turning your yard into a moonscape of giant craters.

Unless you specifically want an athletic dog for sledding, carting, backpacking, or other outdoor-related activities, preferably in a cool climate, I do not recommend this breed. Siberian Huskies were never intended to be simply pets. Trying to suppress their "hardwired" drive to work, without providing alternate outlets for their energy, can be difficult.

Also a HUGE THICK raw BONE from the BUTCHES! NEVER COOK THE BONES

  9. You need to get him more exercise...that way he'll be tired at night, and want to calm down. Play ball with him, take him for walks...etc.  Keep him busy enough during the day.

  10. give him alot of Excercise before leaving for the day. Play fetch or favorite game and bring the dog for a long walk.

give the dog one of those big knuckle bones or cow hooves.

Buy a big crate for the dog for when you are n ot home to watch him.

  11. Buy him some vet approved rawhides and chewies and toys. When he starts chewing on your pants give him a one and when he starts chewing on it or playing with it tell him good boy and praise him. Don't be afraid to get on the floor and interact with him.

  12. I can tell you personally what to do with huskies, seeing as I owned my first one from the time he was 6 weeks old until his passing on June 15th, and my second one from June 29th from three months of age until whenever he crosses over.

    For the future..

You have a decent-sized backyard, right? I'll assume you do, because it's absolutely necessary for husky owners to have a good backyard.

    Make him run.

I mean, CHASE HIM. Full speed. Around the yard. Trust me, he's a husky, he'll love you for it. If he's not the kind that wants to be chased, run like the wind and make him follow you as fast as he can. Do this until he starts huffing and puffing, or until YOU start huffing and puffing, whichever one happens first. If you huff and puff first, take a short break, then resume.

If he likes fetching things, like footballs, make him go the length of the yard and back.

Do you have a treadmill? Pop him on there, start him at a walk, then up the speed until he's jogging. Don't tie him onto the treadmill, hold the leash and stand in front of the treadmill.

I promise, doing any of these things in the evening will knock him out at night. I wouldn't get a decent night's sleep if I didn't chase my puppy around the yard every time he went out for a potty break.

  13. if you have like chew toys or tennis balls you can throw it around the house he will go chasing after it he wont be bored any more. Or you can get a dog rope and play tuggaward

  14. I play hide and seek with my dog...

first i tell him to sit and stay in one room.

then when im hidden i call his name...

it might take him a while but he freaks when he finds me.

    its funny!

  15. Keep the pup moving!  Find a ball, or something you can throw (even at a short distance) for him or her to retrieve.

You can also wrestle with the dog...they love that! Although, it will not settle them down.

Also, practice training your dog to heal next to you and sit, or lay down, or shake hands.

Keep that pup busy, or just pet him...good luck!

  16. Exercise often and hard - these dogs are INTENSE physically.

Definitely do obedience and trick training sessions throughout the time you are home with him. Keep his mind active.

Invest in a dog vest and weigh him down for the walks - intensifies the workout.

Put him on a treadmill. These guys can run for an hour straight before slowing down. Train him to run on the treadmill for those days that are rainy or you are too crazy busy to walk him.

  17. well if u have a treadmill then u can use that for now or buy a laser and drive him nuts with it my dog can chase it for hours

  18. I keep a Kong toy in the freezer for moments like that. We stuffed it with a little bit of kibble and put some Kong stuffing in it and then froze it. When boredom hits her and we have no way to entertain her the frozen Kong holds her attention for hours until she gets every morsel of food out.

  19. Buy him some toys. :] And play with him.

  20. You've got to walk your dog as much as you can like twice a day for half an hour. And watch The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Milan.

    I wish you well
