Back in Dec. I got into a car accident from a DUI and totalled my car. Unfortunatly I was left with a dislocated hip and no medical insurance to help with the 20+ grand in medical bills. I did have full coverage in auto insurance but they only paid for a grand in medical bills. I also have a few unpaid medical bills from a year ago, so in all I owe 25+ grand just in hospital bills. I'm stuck with a ton of bills, costs of a DUI, and I'm a 24 year old college student who doesn't have enough $$ to cover these costs. What do I do?!?!

  1. Hospitals will set up payment plans with you where you pay a very low amount each month. You will pay for a long time, but at least it's possible this way.

Another possibility is declaring bankruptcy. I don't think you would have to pay more than 10% of your income towards the debt monthly once you declare.

  2. were you the drunk? if you consider this your payment to society. leave school and get two jobs and stop drinking and driving.
