What do I do with all the junk in my garage that the trash man wont take?

I live in Costa Mesa, California, which is in Orange County. I have a lot of junk, old stuff, wood, broken toys, and couches in my garage that my garbage man will not take. I considered getting a dumpster container but I don't have the time or energy to remove it. I am considering getting a junk removal service company to do all the work so I do not have too, can anyone recommend a junk removal company in my area and their experience they had with them? Please help thanks in advance

Depending upon how "junky" it is, you may be able to get Good Will, Salvation Army or some other charitable organization to take those things that can be repaired, cleaned and reused.  Check for lesser known organization that may want your "junk" to salvage, reuse or resell!

I guess if it were me I would look at craigslist for your area.

It has proved to be a valuable tool for me in the past.

Try Freecycle.  Check http://www.freecycle.org/ to see if there's a group in your area.

do you have 1 800 GOT JUNK...out by you? I've used them and they're pretty good.

In the city where I leave we have trucking companies just for this type of stuff.  They come and load up all your junk, clean you basement or garage out or do anything you want cleaned up.  Check kijiji.com to see if there are any listed in your city.  If you are not familiar with this site you first enter you state, then city, and look under moving services.  If you do not find your city enter your zip code.    I own a businees exactly as I am talking of but unfortunately I can't help you, I live in Canada!!!!  Good Luck!!!!

i agree with the poster above me. my neighbors in El Sereno used them and was very satisfied.

you could also go to craigslist.org and look for people who do private hauling.....good luck.

I just had the exact same problem you had. I had a garage full of junk, appliances, couches Old TV and a whole bunch of boxes, and I was selling my house and my Realtor pretty much made me get rid of everything before she would not put it up for sale, I guess it was not good for showings.
