What do I do with an unfixable washing machine?

I am moving out of my apartment and it is time to get rid of the unfixable washing machine that has been sitting there for months. What is the best thing to do with it? Would a junk yard buy it for scraps? I am in the Jackson, MS area if anyone local happens to come across this question. Thanks!

Ph_blaze give it to a neighbor who repairs washers to use as parts.

Phone your local council/shire/county office and ask them. I'm sure they will point you in the right direction. A 'scrap-metal merchant' probably would buy it - again, ring them and ask!  Good luck.

Call a scrap metal dealer and ask them to pick it up.  At least someone will get something out of it.

If you can get it to a scrap yard that pays you a few bucks for it that would be great. I wasn't able to do that and had to pay someone $35 to haul it away.
