hould I sell my bike?

What should I do with my bike?

Should I sell my bike?

I bought my bike for 1600 and shoes for 200 and a 60 dollar helmet. I dont know if I should sell it. I put it on creigs list for everything for 1500. I am leaving and going far away for the summer and not coming back. I dont know if it is worth traveling with my bike. It is full carbon fiber. What do you guys think? Also i am going to two different places this summer.

  1. pack your bike with you, that is the essence and spirit of a real cyclist.

  2. Unless you are going away to prision, I'd keep the bike.  One does not usually spend 1900 bucks on biking unless they are pretty serious about it.......or have you had a change of heart?

  3. 1. do you plan to stick with the sport?

if so, why sell? it sounds like you're moving? bring your bike!

    2. if you sell, you probably won't get near what you paid for it. thus, you're out the cost of this ride, and the next if you decide to get a new bike when you reach your new home.

I'd keep the bike, at least until you're settled in, then re-evalute your involvement in the sport. you've made a pretty good investment. itd be a shame to blow it..

  4. Hey i have had the same problem a few years ago. I put my bike on ebay and what you can do if you go on 'advanced selling' with a reserve price, so as your bike has already been used and you bought it for 1600 i would suggest a reserve price of 1200 or maybe 12300. I would not suggest that you put it forward for 'buy it now'. You can watch the bids fly up. But if your reserve price is not reached then it will not be sold. so just try again but maybe at a bit lower price! I hope this has helped and good luck! x
