Question:

What do I do with my cat?!

My kitten/cat is a year old and refuses to pee in her litter box. She always has. We are getting very frustrated with the smell, but we love her to death! EVERYTHING has been tried; clumping litter, two litter boxes, trying to keep very clean boxes...We also have a 16 yr. old cat, if that changes any of your advice. Getting rid of her would be a very, very, absolute last resort. Thanks!

  1. Pamper her whenever she uses it. Give her a reward. Place her in the litter box when you think she has to go. smart move on taking her to the vet, if she's healthy, it's just a training issue. Hope it helps!

  2. EASY!

1.IF YOUR CAT PEES IN THE SAME AREA TRY MOVING THE LITTER BOX TO THAT CERTAIN PLACE!

2.IF SHE PEES IN DIFFERENT PLACES IN THE HOUSE THEN SHE MARKING HER TERRITORY MEANING WHEREVER SHE PEES SHE'S LETTING THE OTHER CAT KNOW SHE OWNS THAT SPOT!

3.IF SHE SH*TS AND PEES OUT THE LITTER BOX THEN SHE DOESN'T LIKE WHERE THE LITTER BOX IS!

4.TRY PUTTING HER IN THE LITTER BOX AND TAKE HER PAWS AND GENTLY MOVE HER PAWS IN THE LITTER!

5.MAYBE SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE LITTER THAT IS BEING USED!

6.TRY PUTTING A ROLLED FOIL NEXT TO HER LITTER BOX! CATS  ATTRACTS SHINY THINGS!

                        GOOD LUCK!

  3. If she used to use the box and now all the sudden doesn't that could mean an infection...you need to get her checked by the vet - she may have a problem like a urinary track infection or something more serious.

  4. Tell her NO! when she goes to the bathroom outside the litter box. When you think she is about to go, place her in her litter box. Make a big deal out of it when she does the right thing.
