Question:

What do I do with my chinchillas?

We have had chinchillas for a few years and now we don't seem to like them as much. I would miss them if we got rid of them but my sister and I don't want them in our room. They make too much of a mess. They bite alot more than they used too. They just don't seem as much fun. I really would miss them if we go rid of them (alot)! I don't know what to do with our two chinchillas. Also, if we got rid of them, what would be the best way? Craigslist? Put up a paper in a pet store? Give to a friend? I want to make sure they are cared for (that is if I decide to get rid of them).

  1. Chinchillas live for about 20 years.

If your going to miss them, give them to a friend so you can go visit them every once in a while.

If you don't think you'll miss them that much, give them to a pet store (thats clean and cares for their animals) or you can put an add up in a pet store or any other store people go to a lot. maybe even put an add in the news paper.

  2. I'm in the same situation with my gerbils. I'm trying to see if one of my mom's assistants who used to own gerbils wants them andif she doesn't i'm probably just gonna keep them.

So, anyway, i know what you mean when a pet isn't what you thought it would be, and if i were you i would try to give them to a friend first and if that doesn't work and you think you will actually cry by giving them to someone you don't know then maybe you just just keep them and make the best of it. Otherwise see if a pet store will let you put up a flyer to sell them.

    Best of luck!

  3. Just a thought, I don't know for sure.

Have you called the Humane Society?
