Question:

What do I do with my knowledge about Anorexia and Bulimia?

As a teen I was as low as 76 pounds. I am 5ft 8inches tall.

I caused myself high risk pregnancies. I lost my hair later in my mid 20's. I am now 41 and have messed up my whole body by my early years of anorexia. I have had to go to 5 Doctors in the last month because i have something wrong with my spine and nerves.

And many more things from life issues to ofcourse my current health. And I started smoking at 25 years old to lose weight. (dumb and still hooked)

All because I starved or purged.

So, how can I help others before it is to late for them?

Where I live the hospitals have stopped the Eating Disorder Clinics. Due to funding.

But I was thinking maybe young Moms Groups or Schools. I am not sure.

Can you help me with ideas?

  1. Consider contacting your school district and seeing if you could be a guest speaker in health classes.  This would be especially helpful for middle school/junior high students to hear.

Good luck and congratulations on beating it.

  2. Every where you go there is young teens doing this thing called "thinspo" its the nicer word for anorexia and bulimia.  Its every where on the internet and Im sure a lot of girls in each town are doing the same thing.  But yeah the young mom groups and schools sound actually like a pretty good idea.  I think that schools should have visitors like you to show them what exactly could happen to them..I think that would really help a lot of teenagers out there.
