What do I do with my old range/oven?

I bought a new stove because, well- I wanted a new one. The old one is nothing special, but it does work. I need to get rid of the old one, but since it's just me, I an unable to haul it anywhere myself. I am looking for someone to just come pick it up. Would a thrift store do this? Someone looking for scrap metal? Where are these people? Suggestions please!

  1. try craigslist, they always have people looking for stuff as well as willing to haul off things.

  2. Go on google & see if there is a "Freecycle" in your area. You can post a notice about your stove on a locally-oriented news group and people who want it will come get it & take it away for free. It worked great for me when I had to get rid of some old furniture and some ranch gates.

  3. CALL THE SALVATION ARMY STORE    THEYLL PICK IT UP

  4. In my area, we have a "freecycle" network. It is through yahoo groups. You can post that you have a stove to give away and anyone who needs it will contact you and pick it up. You can also post if you are searching for a specific item. All items are free.  I am sure it works much the same as craigslist. It's amazing what people are "freecycling"

  5. Sell it  or give it away on Craigslist, otherwise put it outside with a sign that says "free."  if you feel like spending a little dough, put an ad in the classifieds.
