  1. Go green with plastic and metal? Are you kidding?

  2. Donate them to Good Will or similar charity in your location

  3. if your metal hangers is corroded you paint them so that you can use it again.for plastic hangers better give some to someone and you use the rest

  4. You can offer them free on Craigslist or other local websites in your area and someone will come get them from you. :)

  5. Some Dry Cleaners will take the hangers (a least the metal ones).  Donat the rest to good will or post it on freecycle.

  6. go to a recycling station and throw them away. if you don´t have those stations phone your local authorities and demand them!

  7. We return the hangars to the cleaners with the next load of soiled clothes. They recycle them.

You could also give them to charitys who resell used clothing for use in resale shops.

  8. Your local thrift store may be able to use them. Some dry cleaners also take them back. I've never tried this but if you have a significant number of metal ones you may be able to sell them as scrap metal at a local scrap yard. Another option is offering to give them away on a local Freecycle or similar type group. http://www.freecycle.org
