What do I do with the sand that was under my above ground pool?

I just tore down my above ground pool. I live in VT and have clay like soil. Should I spread the sand evenly over my lawn? Because the sand helps with drainage? Should I get rid of the sand? What is the best way to turn the spot where the pool was into lawn?

  1. Don't make a crater where your pool was.  You can use the sand to spread in flower beds or in a garden area.  If you want lawn to grow put some top soil and some gypsum on your pool site and spread some seed and cover with a bit of bark mulch and water---either in the spring or right now.
