What do I do with wooden window trim and sill in the bathtub area?

The previous homeowners installed a new window with a white metal frame in the bathtub area, but they left the wooden window trim and wooden sill, which prevents me from using the shower. The tub area is tiled, in very good condition, which I plan on painting (they are pink and black now!) I have given the window trim and sill 3 coats of bathroom paint, but I am not sure this will prevent the wood from rotting over time with shower use. What can I do with the window trim and sill so I can use my shower?

  1. this would be a quick fix until a better solution comes up but how about cutting a clear plastic shower curtain to size use it as a curtain on that window..

  2. I once lived in a house with all UGLY wood trim around every window and door! In the bathroom too. What you can do to the make it look really nice is you can paint the wood a beautiful white color and get some relaxing decor in the bathroom. Perhaps seashells in a glass would add to be the perfect touch.

    hope you use this idea!

  3. Buy a shower window curtain and make sure it covers the entire window.  Duh.  That has been the solution for windows in showertub areas for decades.   Where have you been?

  4. could tear off trim, sill and install tile w/water proof bkr brd. doesn't have to be same tile.

    little deco color?

  5. There is plastic moulding available that would last in the shower. You might also want to add some plastic laminate to the walls to deter water rot. (similar to what you see on the walls of public restrooms) Glue use should be waterproof type. Good Luck!

  6. do one thing there is one plastic solution which is used to cover wood from this kind of wear and tear i don't remember

the name of solution but it will hwlp u in ur trouble

if u like my answer plzz give me point

    bye

  7. There are waterproof and waterrepellant paints and topcoats.  If you've got the funds replace with a shower compatible material like stone, granite, glass or tile.
