Question:

What do I feed a baby mole?

I was out back at our fire pit burning some boxes. I heard a tiny squeaking. After looking at the ground I found a tiny baby mole. This poor guy was definitly out of it's element because it was in the blazing sun laying in crushed stone.

I put it in a small container and put a towel over it for now...

What now? I called Petco and they said let it go and it will use it's own survival instincts, but this little guys eyes are not even open yet... Given it's location I am pretty sure it was far away from mama...

I'm not the kind of girl that can just lt an animal die even if it is just a mole...

What can I feed? How do I care for it until I can release it back in to the wild?

  1. Destroyer of Worlds- YOU SUCK! YOU HEARTLESS JERK!

anyway, as to your question, try nuts, seeds and berries for awhile. Depending on how young it is, you might be able to feed it warm milk from a bottle...Good Luck!

  2. worms and grubs

  3. Okay. The other day, three new born squerlls fell from our tree. The two that survived didn't have their eyes open either. We had to let them go because they are wild animals and can bite you and make you infected. I wanted to keep them until we could let them go, but we couln't. That's life. They will live because they naturally know what to do. But if you must, feed him bugs or dirt, don't touch him. If you did wash your hands. You should put him in a bigger box with stuff like dirt and rocks. When he opens his eyes though, you must let him go!

  4. ok. It will not ive if you leave it. These are underground animals. It is way out of element. Keep it warm and I would tell you to call a wildlife rehabber in your area that will advise you or tell you to bring it to her. No charge for this. It will eat every hour. should be fed a speical diet of KMR powder and Multi-milk powder with 2 parts of water. If cannot get that at pet store can get esbilac. then to wean which is at 4 weeks old give them earthworms, grubs, mealworms ground beef dog food. Can be released when can eat on its own. Best bet is to get to rehabber asap though. Thanks for caring. In response to another advisor on here no baby with eyes closed and pink should be left they will not survive. They can not regulate body temps. Good luck and its great your giving this little one a chance.
