I'm 16 years old. Female. I eat mostly vegetarian food, if I have meat it is usually every 1-2 months and mostly it is chicken. I weigh between 55-58 kilos. I'm 5'6 and a half.

For breakfast:-

1 banana smoothie which is made of 1 banana, 2 tablespoons of low fat yogurt, 250 mls of soy milk and 2 tablespoons of honey to sweeten.

OR

1 sandwich with chocolate spread * no margarine*

OR

2 slices of toast with olive margarine and banana.

FOR LUNCH:-

1 bowl of soup

OR

1 corn cob with olive oil +salt n pepper

OR

1 sweet potato with a drizzle of olive oil and tomato sauce

OR

A salad sandwich (usually I don't have mayonaise)

DINNER:-

2 vegetarian sausages with mashed potato and vegetable (like beans)

OR

Vegetarian pasta (pasta, onion, olive oil, jar of olives, 2 cans of tomatos, etc.)

OR

Usually some sort of chinese style food my mums makes like satay noodles.

Sorry I had to go through all that.

Anyway, I usually am hungry more in the mornings and I can't wait till lunch time (I try and snack on fruit or salad in the meantime)

I drink a few cups of green tea per day and a couple of glasses of water.

Do you have any ideas on what I could be doing that is making me feel hungry with no energy? Or anything that could stop cravings?? Please help... I don't wanna put on any weight.. I want to lose a few kilos but this hunger that I keep getting is really annoying and preventing me from doing so.

  1. Um. I would eat this if I were you-

For Breakfast- 3 Eggs and 1 piece of toast

Snack-Yogurt and a glass of water

    Lunch-Soup or Oatmeal

    Snack-3 pieces of furit

Dinner-2 vegetarian sausages with mashed potato and vegetable (like beans)

    Snack-Glass of water and toast

Excercise. And to stop feeling hungry drink water and if you get hungry in the meantime just brush your teeth every so often. If you brush your teeth then food will taste funny in your mouth!

  2. You should be eating 5 meals a day - just make them smaller meals. This will help stop your mid morning cravings.

If you can eat eggs, then these make a great breakfast and you won't feel so hungry so quickly.

You really need more protein as you are not getting any. Its okay to not eat meat but you need to replace it with other proteins - eggs, legumes etc. I think this is your main problem.

    for example:

    BREAKFAST:

    cereal with some fruit

    SNACK:

walnuts and yogurt or a healthy bar

    LUNCH:

a sandwich with fruit or carrots

    SNACK:

Celery or yogurt or some cracker biscuits (or rice crackers) with cheese (cheese is optional)

    DINNER:

meats or fish or vegies or chicken, pasta etc

    SNACK:

    a bit of fruit
