  1. you need to graduate from college, then go to med school.

so the first thing is to decide what to major in and what college to go to for your undergraduate degree. ( the 2 are linked. you can pick either first)

many people who want to be doctors major in pre-med, but there is NO major that will guarantee that you will be admitted to med school.

  2. i feel sorry for you.. i just graduated last year and i'm trying to figure everything out.. its hard.. but i'm going to school to be a rn next week and i'm starting out at a community college..then going further..

i think that might be best for you.. if i was you i would focus on getting some scholarships

  3. 1. talk to your counselor at school

    2. do some research online

    3. i'd start with premed

  4. Go to www.collegeboard.com and fill out a profile. They will match you with any colleges (best or worst) that offer OB-GYN programs and then look at those college websites, browse through the course listing for Pre-Med degree track and that willusuallyt tell you the classes your required to take from freshman year and to graduation.

  5. An OBGYN is a medical doctor who has specialized in this area. So you have to go to 4 years of medical school first, before you do internship and then residency and then specialize, which means even more school. And before medical school you have to go to 4 years of college and do well enough to get in to a medical school.

So that means you need to head to a good college after high school, where you can major in those things that really interest you. You might change your mind about being a doctor by the time you get out, but even if you don't there is PLENTY of time to make a decision about doctoring AFTER you get through a couple years of college. Medical schools like to see well-rounded applicants, those who not only get good grades in science courses, but those who do well at other things, too. So follow your interests for now, and leave the far-off decidions until later.
