What do I have to do before the Exterminator comes...and to make the apartment livable for a cat too?

The exterminator is coming sometime when I won't be hometo get rid of my HUGE silverfish invasion. My landlady is having them come sometime when I am on vacation for the next week or so, and I am leaving tomorrow. My cat and all of the things she eats out of, sleeps in, plays with, etc will be going to a friends house while I am away. What else do I need to do before the exterminator comes, like for dishes, clothing, bedding, furniture, etc. And what do I need to do when I get home to make sure the apartment is safe for my little kitty to come home?
