  1. Dental Schools can be really particular in their requirements, so your best bet is to call up the admissions office of the ones you're interested in going to - e.g. the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry has info on admissions here:

    http://www.lsusd.lsuhsc.edu/academic/dds...

And you can also get their contact details on the website.

As I said, different dental schools have their own admissions policies, so call them up and get advice on what courses etc to do just now, and when to apply.

There are certain things that can really help though:

-Work experience/shadowing: if you have worked as a dental nurse it can really help, as you already have some clinical knowledge. Even work shadowing is a bonus, as you get an idea of a wide range of common procedures. You can write letters to local dentists asking if you can spend some time with them.

-Good manual dexterity: basically, anything that you can do that proves you're good at working with your hands. Examples are art, sculpting, playing a musical instrument, sewing... It's useful to have some examples to show interviewers, like a picture of your work, or even some pieces.

-Excellent people skills: it's important to come across as personable and confident in your interview, and even in any phone calls - ask family and friends for pointers, and your college may offer mock interviews to help you practice.

All the best with your application!

  2. need to do 3 years of premed in science subjects like Biology, Chemistry & Physics. Then you are eligible for Dental school.

  3. Anyone can apply at any school he or she wants and most of the time you can do it online if you can pay for the application fee online...their are no requirements to apply other than an entrance application fee and for every 100 individuals who apply only 1 gets accepted. Most post-graduate schools require a biography essay. The requirements for GETTING IN TO post-graduate (after you receive a bachelor degree) school are different for each school. It depends on what Dental College you want to go to. The first thing you should do is check out Dental Schools online and review the requirements. For Medical School you must take your MCAT (In Law School you take your LSAT), an entrance exam that is costly and time consuming. Acceptance into post graduate school is based on the criteria the University chooses to use. For example; one University may place more emphasis on your entrance exam test scores (MCAT scores) and less on your circumstances or hardship/scholarship aid (like at an Ivy League school such as Harvard, unless your last name is Harvard then you're in like Flyn). Another university may place more emphasis on your personal entrance essay. It all depends on which one you choose as to what will be expected of you. And, while a 3.5 gpa may be your junior gpa, more importantly will be your senior gpa.
